74EQ20191202 - alkalinity
After consultation with cruise PIs and Paula C. Pardo: When certain phases of El
Niño and SAM occur, there is an intensification of the subtropical gyre of the
South Pacific and of the ACC, which could promote an arrival of older water
(with higher TA) when the ACC is reinforced. As we cannot rule this out, no
adjustment.

74EQ20191202 - alkalinity
Difficult decision as crossovers agree that the alkalinity concentrations are
too high. However, spread (and hence uncertainty) is quite large and there are
only three crossovers in total with the most recent crossover cruise being from
2005… CANYON-B, CONTENT and crossover analysis on pressure surfaces all show a
similar offset. MLR and depth average analysis is very uncertain.. Adjust
downward.

Difficult decision as crossovers agree that the concentrations are too high.
However, there are only four crossovers in total with the most recent crossover
cruise being from 2006… CANYON-B, N-P ratio of SO, MLR, depth averages, and
crossover analysis on pressure surfaces all show a similar offset. Adjust
downward.

74EQ20191202 - silicate
All crossovers (four) show offset of about 4% which is constant in depth. MLR
analysis supports this adjustment, depth averages do not… Adjust downward (?)

All crossovers (five) show an offset of about 5% which is constant in depth.
This is supported by an additional MLR analysis and depth average comparisons (6
cruises used for MLR). Adjust downward.
