49NZ20210713 - alkalinity
Difficult decision. A consistent offset in depth against almost all crossover
cruises is visible but often still within limits. There is no clear correlation
between offset magnitude and location to be detected (even though most
crossovers are in the western part near Japan). Further there seems to be a
trend towards slightly lower concentrations. Note that CANYON-B comparison does
not support the adjustment. Adjust upward slightly.

not clearly linked to different regions, depths or watermasses - this is also
not present in nearby cruises... Further, all other tracers rather
overasaturated (as also present in previous cruises) but CFC_12 is not. Also fit
with SF6 is off. Adjust upward by 10%.

First of all two clearly distinct patterns of CFC_11 vs CFC_12 ratio which is
not clearly linked to different regions, depths or watermasses - this is also
not present in nearby cruises... Further, all other tracers rather
overasaturated (as also present in previous cruises) but CFC_12 is not. Also fit
with SF6 is off. Adjust upward by 10%.

49NZ20210713 - alkalinity
Difficult decision. A consistent offset in depth against almost all crossover
cruises is visible but often still within limits. There is no clear correlation
between offset magnitude and location to be detected (even though most
crossovers are in the western part near Japan). Further there seems to be a
trend towards slightly lower concentrations. Note that CANYON-B comparison does
not support the adjustment. Adjust upward slightly.
